Update from your Local Beat Team |
Good Afternoon, Folkestone. A quick update from your Local Beat team on recent work in and around the town centre. We’ve seen an increase in ASB involving youths riding push bikes through heavily pedestrianised areas. To address this, we have seized four push bikes and one e‑scooter, spoken with parents, and provided safety education on the risks associated with this behaviour. Our internal departments have also engaged directly with further youths identified as part of the group, along with their guardians, to reinforce these messages and ensure they understand the consequences and dangers involved. I’d also like to highlight a positive meeting held between Bouverie Shopping Centre, Folkestone & Hythe District Council, and Kent Police. Together, we identified shared concerns and developed a joint working strategy to tackle these issues moving forward. This collaborative approach will help us maintain a safer, more welcoming town centre for everyone.
Please continue you report your concerns, and speak to you local officers when they are on patrol in the town centre. | ||
